Hola Tango Lovers!


This week there is a very special milonga for charity and a practica in the area:
  1. The Tuesday practica is at the Dance Junxion at Rosebank Mall.
  2. The Sunday milonga benefits Children of Fire, a charity that helps young survivors of burn injuries in Africa. The organization offers treatment for burn survivors and community education and prevention. Lily is hosting the event at Dimi's Restaurant in the Cresta Shopping Centre. There is no entrance fee, but participants are asked to make a donation at the door to support the cause. Milonga:

A special Milonga for a Good Cause hosted by Lily. Proceeds benefit Children of Fire, a charity that provides treatment for young survivors of burn injuries.

Venue: Dimi's Restaurant in the Cresta Shopping Centre
Where: Corner of Beyers Naude and Weltevreden Road
Cost: There is no entrance fee for the milonga. However, participants are asked to make a donation at the door to support Children of Fire. The charity cooperates to help young survivors of burn injuries (whether by fire, chemicals, electricity or hot liquids) in Africa and to help and educate the communities in which they live, providing both prevention and cure.

Sundays at 7:30p.m. at Que Pasa Latin Lounge, 19th Floor, Pinnacle Building, 8 Burg Street, Cape Town CBD.
Music is played in tanda’s separated with 20 second cortinas, the same way it’s done in Buenos Aires. Tandas are a combination of classic, vals, nuevo & milongas. Everyone is welcome!

Cape Town Tango Ensemble:
A tango orchestra that performs traditional tangos in the style of DiSarli, Canaro, Salgan, Pugliese and tango nuevos in the style of Piazzolla, Galliano, Fiorrio. It also performs its own including works by Stanislav Angelov' who mixes tango tradition with a jazz and South African flavours. His compositions and arrangements are often used for film and television productions in South Africa and overseas.
The ensemble also performs for theatre productions with professional tango dancers and actors in South Africa and Namibia.
